Has God called you to write? Has God given you a message He wants you to share? We may not be able answer that question, but we may be able to help you answer it.
A brief history of the Christian Writers Seminar, now West Coast Christian Writers. The Seminar was designed to encourage and instruct beginning to intermediate writers seeking to write for publication. On a Friday evening and Saturday of each February for twenty one years, from 1994-2014, the Seminar ministered to 150-220 Christian writers and writing instructors at the facilities of Redwood Chapel Community Church, in Castro Valley, California. The Seminar invited a writer of national and international prominence to be the keynote speaker. The Seminar featured 40-50 workshops on writing topics, taught by the most qualified instructors available. A number of workshops were grouped together into tracks such as fiction, writing your first book, article writing, and screenwriting.
A valuable part of the Seminar's ministry was the CD's of the workshops, available at an economical price. The average writer gained more benefit from listen to these recordings repeatedly than in attending the session live.
The Christian Writers Seminar has now become the West Coast Christian Writers, and the next Seminar is Feb. 17-18, 2017 in Fremont, California.
The new Seminar website is westcoastchristianwriters.com, and keynote speakers, workshops, meals, and bios for the writing instructors are given.
The local critique group, Castro Valley Christian Writers no longer meets.
